Sport Birmingham Community Celebration Awards: Terms and Conditions
- Eligibility:
The awards are open to Birmingham-based organisations and individuals who have made significant contributions to sport and physical activity within the local community. Organisations and individuals must either be based in Birmingham or have a direct impact on the Birmingham community. - Entry Process and Deadline:
Entry to the awards is free. All nominations must be submitted online via the official Sport Birmingham website by 14th October 2024. The deadline may be extended, if necessary, but it is advisable to submit nominations by the original deadline to avoid missing out. Nominations can be made by both individuals and organisations, but each submission must be completed separately for each category. - Submission Requirements:
Nominations should consist of written responses addressing the criteria set out in the relevant award category. Each section should be carefully crafted, with a total word count for all sections not exceeding 900 words (300 words per section as indicated in the form). Submissions may also include supporting documents, such as photographs, tables, testimonials, research or evaluation reports, and promotional materials. These supporting materials should be no more than four sides of A4 in total and submitted in PDF or Word format. If you wish to submit tables, graphics, URLs, etc., these should be included within your supporting materials, not as part of the main submission text. - Confidential Information:
You may include confidential information in your submission and supporting documents. However, if you do so, please flag this by contacting info@sportbirmingham.org. Clearly state in the subject line of your email: “Nomination Entry (your organisation/individual) Confidential Information.” Confidential information will be shared only with those involved in the judging process and will not be disclosed beyond that. - Category Selection:
Each entry must be submitted to only one category that best fits the nomination. If you are unsure which category to choose, please contact info@sportbirmingham.org to discuss the best option. You may submit a maximum of three entries per category, provided the featured work is distinctive and unrelated. If there is commonality between entries, it is advisable to combine the elements into a single stronger submission. - Collaboration Entries:
Nominations involving collaboration between multiple organisations should be submitted by the lead organisation. If your entry relates to a collaboration with another organisation you would like to credit, please enter “in collaboration with” in the relevant field on the entry form. - Drafting and Submitting Entries:
When preparing your submission, please note that the online nomination form does not have an option to save progress. It is advisable to draft your responses in Microsoft Word or a similar program, then copy and paste them into the form to avoid losing your work. Once your entry is complete, click ‘SUBMIT’ to finalise it. Please ensure all information is accurate and complete before submission, as no changes can be made afterwards. - Judging Criteria:
The judges will be looking for compelling stories backed up with solid evidence and metrics that demonstrate impact and success. Submissions that are well-structured and provide clear, concise information aligned with the award criteria will be rated highly. - Notification of Shortlisted Nominees:
The shortlist will be published on 5th November 2024. Shortlisted nominees (3) will be contacted via email and may be asked to provide further information to support their nomination. Winners will be announced at the Sport Birmingham Community Celebration Awards event on 21st November 2024. - Use of Submitted Information:
Sport Birmingham reserves the right to use submitted information for promotional purposes, including media releases, website content, social media posts, and future marketing materials. Only non-confidential information will be shared publicly. - Data Protection:
By submitting a nomination, nominators and nominees agree that their personal data will be used in accordance with Sport Birmingham’s Privacy Policy for the purpose of administering the awards. Your details will not be shared with any third party beyond what is necessary for judging and administration purposes. For more information, please refer to our Privacy Policy. - Amendments:
Sport Birmingham reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on the Sport Birmingham website, and it is the responsibility of the nominators to check for updates.
Acceptance of Terms:
By submitting a nomination, nominators agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
