March 7, 2026 - March 8, 2026 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

In partnership with Metro Bank, the England and Wales Cricket Board are delivering Leading the Future of Women’s Cricket the first conference of its kind for coaches and leaders working across sport with a passion for women’s and girls’ participation. The event has been designed to support people at all stages of their journey, and to provide space for learning, reflection and discussion.

The two days are structured around two clear themes.

Day One: Leading Self and Leading Others

Day one focuses on the individual. How coaches and leaders understand themselves, work effectively with others, and contribute positively within their clubs and committees.

Sessions explore areas such as self-awareness, confidence, communication, decision-making under pressure, and leadership within community club structures. Alongside this, there are high-quality technical coaching workshops that support long-term athlete development and help coaches think more deeply about their practice and sessions on welcoming and inclusive club environments, growing and sustaining girls’ cricket.

The intention is to give people the time and tools to reflect on how they lead, how they influence others, and how they can contribute more effectively to the environments they are part of.

Day Two: Leading Culture and Leading Change

Day two widens the lens to look at culture, systems and the future of the women’s and girls’ game.

Topics include creating navigating change, understanding barriers within the system, and supporting career pathways and progression. There is also a focus on how community clubs can make the most of international tournament opportunities to fundraise, strengthen their offer and engage their communities.

The emphasis throughout is on practical learning that people can take back to their clubs and communities, helping to support long-term, sustainable change rather than short-term fixes.

Cost and practical details

The cost of the conference is £200 per person, inclusive of all food, refreshments and accommodation. With twin rooms available, two people can attend for £325. Booking link here
