Last month, the Sport Birmingham team hosted a Skills360 community event at Austin Court in Birmingham. Local community organisations were invited to find out more about the platform and the ways in which the team can help them achieve their ambitions. The event was also an opportunity for local community groups to network, share knowledge and develop collaborative working opportunities. If you are a leader of a project or organisation, Skills360 provide access to training and development tools that support your volunteers, workforce and participants to build the necessary knowledge, skills and qualifications needed for the sport and physical activity workforce. You can track and support your people throughout their time on Skills360. Individuals can also sign up to the platform.
The Skills360 platform offers a range of e-learning, that provides foundational training and qualifications, including Accredited CPD points. Skills360 is aimed at those who wish to work or volunteer in the sport and physical activity sector in particular, and is delivered in partnership with Sport England and the Chartered Institute for the Management if Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA).
Those that sign up to Skills360 have the opportunity to develop a range of skills that can help them on their journey into volunteering and employment. Topics include leadership, digital skills, communication skills, problem solving, resilience, safeguarding and mental health. The platform’s evidence log enables users to track their progress and gain certificates and points along the way. In addition to the platform itself, the Skills360 team have unrivalled access to a network of partners who offer further training and development, access to qualifications and fantastic opportunities to both volunteer and get paid work.
Those attending the event were also able to chat with our fantastic community team and find out about the variety of additional support on offer.
