Sport Birmingham Strengthens Partnership with Sport Structures Offering Discounted Courses

At Sport Birmingham, we want to ensure that every person and community in Birmingham has the opportunity to experience the enjoyment and benefits of being active. We are committed to ensuring that the places where people are active are safe, inclusive and accessible and that’s why we’re working with organisations, partners and National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGB’s), to safeguard children and adults across the city.

We are part of a national network of Sport Welfare Officers that has been created across England to support NGB’s and their local clubs to promote good practice and safe sport for children, young people and adults on a local level. Our local Community Engagement team will help support clubs and community organisations to implement effective welfare and create inclusive cultures. They will help further understand safeguarding in local communities, mentor and support clubs to ensure the welfare of all their members (children, young people and adults) and assist Club Welfare Officers in promoting good practice and safe sport at a local level.
