What’s covered?
The disability inclusion training consists of disability awareness and theory followed by practical applications, with tips and ideas to delivering fun and inclusive activities relevant to your setting.
• The current disability sport landscape and why more inclusive provision is needed
• Medical vs Social Model of Disability
• An introduction to different impairment groups and tips on how to meet different needs – neurodivergences, learning disabilities, physical impairments, d/Deaf and hard of hearing, and sight loss.
• Tools and models to help you adapt: The Inclusion Spectrum, STEP and SMILES
• Other considerations outside of session delivery that help creates an inclusive and welcoming environment
• Putting learning into practice with practical activities and persona examples
Duration: 3 hours
Group size: 8-20 people

Currently deliver, or have the aspiration to deliver, sport or physical activity
sessions in:
- Lozells
- Alum Rock
- Castle Vale
- Sparkbrook/Balsall Heath
- Heartlands
- Groups outside of these areas may also be considered
